Man drove Rolls Royce into Tesco

An angry shopper drove his Rolls Royce into a Tesco superstore after a dispute over the delivery of a bed.

Rolls Royce driver admits dangerous drivng after it smashed through the window of the Tesco superstore in Andover, Hampshire.

Robert Caton, 50, went to the supermarket to remonstrate with managers after the bed he ordered was delivered without a mattress.

Unhappy with their response he flew into a drunken rage before driving his 1983 Rolls Royce Silver Spirit through the store's plate glass window as shoppers and staff dived for cover.

Asco Supermarket chain to challenge Tesco and Asda

A new supermarket chain, Asco Supermarket, is hoping to challenge retail giants Tesco and Asda when it opens its first store by offering customers something different.

The first Asco store begins trading in October in Warrington on the site of a former Woolworths.

It will have a blue fascia with white lettering and the strapline ''a real alternative'', following research which found shoppers were looking for supermarkets beyond the big four.
